Our 2025 Summer Intensives and Camps offer an unparalleled opportunity for dancers at every stage, from young beginners in imaginative themed camps to pre-professional students seeking rigorous training. Curated by School Director Jorge Laico, alongside our team of esteemed faculty, these programs cultivate technique, artistry, and performance in a supportive, creative atmosphere.

SENIOR SUMMER INTENSIVE
JUNE 9 – JULY 11, 2025
AGES 14-21
The Senior Summer Intensive at the School of Sacramento Ballet offers a comprehensive, five-week immersion designed for dedicated dancers aiming to refine their craft and reach new levels of technical and artistic excellence. Set in California’s capital, this premier program encompasses advanced ballet technique, pointe, male and female variations, pas de deux, modern and contemporary dance, choreography, and performance workshops. Participants will train under the expert guidance of Sacramento Ballet’s Artistic Director Anthony Krutzkamp, School of Sacramento Ballet Director Jorge Laico, Second Company Director Jill Marlow Krutzkamp, Rehearsal Directors Elise Elliot and Rhodes Elliot, along with company dancers and esteemed guest faculty. In addition to intensive training, students will have the unique opportunity to be considered for Sacramento Ballet’s Second Company, fostering a pathway to professional development.

JUNIOR SUMMER INTENSIVE
JULY 14 – AUGUST 1, 2025
AGES 10-13
The Junior Summer Intensive at the School of Sacramento Ballet provides an exceptional three-week program tailored for young dancers ready to deepen their training and artistry. Designed for ages 10-13, this immersive experience includes focused instruction in ballet technique, pointe, male and female variations, pas de deux, modern and contemporary dance, choreography, hip-hop, and body conditioning. With guidance from Sacramento Ballet’s dedicated school faculty and company dancers, students will develop their skills in a supportive and inspiring environment alongside peers who share their passion for dance.

YOUNG DANCER INTENSIVE
TWO ONE WEEK SESSIONS – JUNE 30 – JULY 4 OR JULY 28 – AUGUST 1
AGES 7 – 9
Jump into a week of dance, creativity, and fun at our Young Dancer Intensive! Designed for ages 7-9, this exciting program offers one-week sessions where young dancers can develop their technique, musicality, and performance skills in a warm, supportive setting. From exploring ballet basics to expressing themselves through modern dance, hip-hop, contemporary, and jazz, dancers will experience a variety of styles that spark joy and creativity. Each session wraps up with a special mini performance, giving participants the chance to shine and share what they’ve learned with friends and family.
No audition is necessary to participate in the Young Dancer Intensive. Registration information will be shared in early 2025.
SUMMER DANCE CAMPS 2025
Registration will open in March 2025
UNDER THE SEA – June 16 – 20, 2025
Join us for a splashing good time as we discover dances, stories and crafts about mermaids, pirates, and lots of sea creatures! A showing will be performed at the end of the week. Dancers will provide their own water bottle and snack every day.
Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Ages: 4-6
DANCE THE RAINBOW – June 23-27, 2025
Come and dance the rainbow with us this summer! Campers will learn dances, hear stories and make crafts inspired by music and favorite storybook characters from all the colors of the rainbow. There will be a showing at the end of the week. Dancers bring their own water bottle and snack each day

Ages: 4-6
ROYAL BALL CAMP – July 7-11, 2025
Hear ye! Hear ye! Calling all princesses and princes for a royal week of fun! Campers will learn dances, hear stories and make crafts about our favorite royal classical ballets, including Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and more. There will be a royal showing at the end of the week. Dancers will provide their own water bottle and snack every day.
Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Ages: 4-6
FAIRYTALE CAMP – July 21-25, 2025
Join us for a week-long summer camp to discover stories, dances and crafts about new and old fairy tales. Unicorns, fairies and many magical tales will be discovered through movement and a showing at the end of the week. Dancers will provide their own water bottle and snack every day.
Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Ages: 4-6
Can’t come to an in-person audition for our Junior or Senior Summer Intensive? Feel free to submit a video audition!
Guidelines for a successful submission:
1. Video Length: Your audition video should not exceed 7 minutes in duration. We encourage you to showcase your best skills and artistic expression within this timeframe.
2. Barre Work: Begin by demonstrating the required barre exercises. These exercises will assess your technique, alignment, and control. Pay attention to proper placement, fluidity of movement, and musicality.
3. Center Work: Next, transition to the center work. Show us your ability to execute various combinations, such as adagio, pirouettes, petite allegro, and grand allegro. Focus on displaying grace, strength, and dynamics in your movements.
4. Technique and Artistry: Throughout your video, we are looking for a combination of technical proficiency and artistic expression. Emphasize musicality, precise footwork, extension, and clarity in your movements. Engage your upper body and maintain a sense of artistry in every step.
5. Attire: Please wear appropriate dance attire that allows us to clearly observe your form and technique. Classical ballet attire, including leotard, tights, ballet shoes, and hair neatly secured, is highly recommended.
6. Filming: Use a smartphone or any video recording device to capture your audition. Ensure good lighting and a clear view of your entire body throughout the video. Position the camera at an appropriate angle that captures your movements effectively.
7. Submission: Remember that only one video can be submitted per applicant. Once you have recorded your audition, upload it following the instructions in the next section. Make sure to include a headshot and a photo of your arabesque before submitting your application.
Please ensure your video audition includes the following exercises:
- Pliés
- Tendus
- Rond de jambe
- Adagio
For beginner pointe students, please complete center work on flat, and a combination en pointe at barre with sous sus and échappé.
