Curated by School Director Jorge Laico, alongside our team of esteemed faculty, these programs cultivate technique, artistry, and performance in a supportive, creative atmosphere.

SENIOR SUMMER INTENSIVE

JUNE 9 – JULY 11, 2025

AGES 14-21

The Senior Summer Intensive at the School of Sacramento Ballet offers a comprehensive, five-week immersion designed for dedicated dancers aiming to refine their craft and reach new levels of technical and artistic excellence. Set in California’s capital, this premier program encompasses advanced ballet technique, pointe, male and female variations, pas de deux, modern and contemporary dance, choreography, and performance workshops. Participants will train under the expert guidance of Sacramento Ballet’s Artistic Director Anthony Krutzkamp, Second Company Director Jill Marlow Krutzkamp, Rehearsal Directors Elise Elliot and Rhodes Elliot, along with company dancers and esteemed guest faculty. In addition to intensive training, students will have the unique opportunity to be considered for Sacramento Ballet’s Second Company, fostering a pathway to professional development.

JUNIOR SUMMER INTENSIVE

JULY 14 – AUGUST 1, 2025
AGES 10-13

 

The Junior Summer Intensive at the School of Sacramento Ballet provides an exceptional three-week program tailored for young dancers ready to deepen their training and artistry. Designed for ages 10-13, this immersive experience includes focused instruction in ballet technique, pointe, male and female variations, pas de deux, modern and contemporary dance, choreography, hip-hop, and body conditioning. With guidance from Sacramento Ballet’s dedicated school faculty and company dancers, students will develop their skills in a supportive and inspiring environment alongside peers who share their passion for dance.

Junior Summer Intensive Cost: $1,895

YOUNG DANCER’S INTENSIVE

TWO ONE WEEK SESSIONS – JUNE 30 – JULY 4 OR JULY 28 – AUGUST 1

AGES 7 – 9

Jump into a week of dance, creativity, and fun at our Young Dancers Intensive! Designed for ages 7-9, this exciting program offers one-week sessions where young dancers can develop their technique, musicality, and performance skills in a warm, supportive setting. From exploring ballet basics to expressing themselves through modern dance, hip-hop, contemporary, and jazz, dancers will experience a variety of styles that spark joy and creativity. Each session wraps up with a special mini performance, giving participants the chance to shine and share what they’ve learned with friends and family.

No audition is necessary to participate in the Young Dancer’s Intensive. Registration information will be shared in early 2025.

Sacramento Ballet is thrilled to join forces with several top-tier ballet schools across the country for the fifth year of the National Summer Intensive Audition (NSIA) collective. As a member of this professional school collective, Sacramento Ballet will host in-person auditions that allow young dancers ages 10-21 the opportunity to be considered by all schools within the group for their highly regarded summer programs. By attending any NSIA audition, students will be eligible for placement offers from each participating institution. Visit the official NSIA website for further details.

Note: All students must pre-register for NSIA auditions hosted by Sacramento Ballet. Walk-up or same-day registrations cannot be accommodated.

Attire Requirements

  • Ladies: solid color leotard, pink or skin-tone tights, matching ballet and pointe shoes
  • Gentlemen: white shirt, black tights, ballet shoes

Audition Process

  1. Choose a City: Select an audition location and register with the host school.
  2. In-Person Audition: Auditions are held on-site, while schools from the collective observe the auditions via Zoom.
  3. Recording and Review: All auditions are recorded to allow participating schools additional review time as needed.
  4. School Preferences: While students can indicate their preferred schools, any NSIA member school may reach out to a student based on their audition.
  5. School Response: NSIA affiliate schools will contact the auditioners who have been accepted into their programs via email.

Pre-registration and payment of the registration fee should be completed directly with the host school (see above), along with a secondary registration form for collective consideration. This is a unique opportunity to be evaluated by a range of distinguished schools across the nation – all through one seamless audition experience.
